MURPHY:

                                     LUCKY ME.

(  was there a WAY to sound empathetic
rather than outright mocking —  )

nothing like a brutal beating and hanging from
your   neck  to  make  you  feel  a  little  more
       APPRECIATIVE         of          the          world.

                                     — almost invigorating.

sarcasm was a hard habit to ditch

if you’re looking for a shoulder to
                                               CRY    on,    try   someone   else.

but if you wanna eat the crap that passes for
food in this shit hole and throw  a  few  nasty
remarks   out   about  the  people  in  charge,
                                  pull up a seat —

                                                        WHAT AN ASSHOLE.

she WASN’T going to cry. but she was
going  to curse  him out  over and over
in her head until his words didn't  sting.

                                                         " i could eat.

                   ( nice going, harper. )

thank you– I don’t know what for but for something, murphy.
you don’t owe my anything. you don’t have to talk to me but
              HERE                                   WE                                    ARE.

                                                                                     – so thank you.

she couldn’t even believe that he would bother to talk
to her. after she did  nothing  to stop the hanging or to
stop him from being banished. he could shun her if he
wanted to.   hey, maybe even psychopaths got lonely.
and         maybe         he         wasn't         so         bad.
