❝ you’re not gonna’ believe me but i just saw this – AMAZING – looking bird. insane colors, perfectly tucked feathers. completely breathtaking, that’s what. ❞

image

❝ hey, that sounds GREAT– we don’t really get too many nice birds around here anymore, not that i’ve seen anyway. so, wait, where is it now?

Yeah. Yeah, the world’s going to shit.

He didn’t want to lie to her. But even if he didn’t want to tell her the truth, she would always end up finding out anyway. It would only help her if she knew.

It’s bad. Worse than people think. No
one really knows. No one really cares,
but I don’t think we’re gonna come back
from this. I’ve seen it. Seen it myself.

She had probably seen some bad shit already, but it was no where near as terrible as what was coming. People who didn’t die. Sicknesses which rendered people completely immobile, suffering under intense fevers. Everyone losing their mind. He may not be as smart as Alicia, but he certainly wasn’t that stupid. He knew it was bad.

The bite– that’s how it happens, right?

Harper wasn’t asking, more like confirming it to herself, like maybe saying the words would make it less real; she would realise how ridiculous the whole thing was and somehow wake up from whatever nightmare she was in.

“ I SAW some of them (the dead, the sick)
but… if it’s as bad as you say, you should
             get out of here.  ”

She’s sick of being sheltered; of people treating her like she needs to be protected because she’s young– because she can handle a gun but can’t handle this, because that’s what they all say. Harper had seen sick people, she had ran from looters and the scum of the world (the ones that were just looking for a little ‘fun’ before they died) but it was nothing compared to the dying. The dying were desperate and scared– just like her.

“I’m helpless.”

image

They hadn’t spoken since Mount Weather– which seemed like long ago; almost like an entire different life
to the one they were living now. The delinquents had all changed since then (Harper walked with an almost-limp on some days, a painful and physical reminder of the hardships they had endured– that she had suffered while the monsters she saw in her dreams extracted her bone marrow). Forgiveness was NOT high on her to-do list, not for that moment, but the moment she saw Clarke, after hearing that she had left, Harper could do nothing but stare painfully, a lump in her throat. “You left, you didn’t even say goodbye,” she managed to choke out, words nothing more than a whisper. “Monty said you couldn’t stay here– I thought that you would atleast bid us farewell before leaving.” Call it naïve hope that the seventeen year-old assumed she was important enough to be worthy of that. Deep down, she knew she could never live up to Bellamy or Octavia or Jasper, she was just ‘Harper’, she was just 'damaged goods’ and 'a good shooter’; nothing less, nothing more. I’m helpless. Personal feelings aside, Harper needed to assist Clarke, however she could, because it might be important (which is probably was). “If you need help, you’ve got it in me, Griffin. What do you need?”

“Smile or go to jail!”

How to Get Away with Murder - Starter Sentences

She would not do well in jail, Harper knew that much about herself; yeah, she was independent and strong but give her two days and she would probably end up at someone’s bitch (if you would mind the language and brutal honesty). Glancing back at Raven, eyebrows knitted together in question– though she dare not press–, the blonde smiled in the direction of the camera. “Get my good side, okay?”

‘do you want to come with me?’ troki asks, no prior introduction given. she tilts her head. ‘you can ride on my horse if you do not feel well to walk. but i am going to swim. warm water – it will be good for you.’

‘couldn’t hurt,’ harper replies, eyes glancing over the girl. she doesn’t know her although she doesn’t care much for formal greetings; it doesn’t matter. ’… i’ve never swam before, i wouldn’t know how to. could–’ she swallows. ’–could you teach me?

❝ Do you think it’s ‘cause we’re so awesome? I think it’s ‘cause we’re so awesome. ❞

image

❝ I think it’s because we’re so, so awesome– We’re, like, the most awesomest, right?❞ Harper really doubts that ‘awesomest’ is even a word but she says it anyway.

Everyone did. They’d come from space, they’ve walked the
Earth ( and he’s willing to bet any DIRT they haven’t stepped
on or tasted yet was just as shitty as this forest ), he wasn’t
sure where else there was to go. But if there was somewhere
else, anywhere else he thinks he’d like to see it.

                                                                                       - WAIT, there was
                                                                                         one place, wasn’t
                                                                                         there?

“ Alright. Let’s go. I’ve always
wanted to see the OCEAN. “

The ocean? As in the water; the stretch of clear blue. It would sure
as hell be a nice change from the green and brown they were pretty
much TRAPPED in, and if it meant getting to see more of Earth—-
getting to swim—- then there was no way she was giving that up.
( There was still so much they hadn’t seen; she wanted to see it all )

                                                                                       She was SO
                                                                                       up   for   that.
