“I just know that everyone hates their boss.”

How to Get Away with Murder - Starter Sentences

“I don’t hate my boss, I hate my job, Wells.” It’s a sucky career; if it can even be called that. Fetching coffee and being a personal assistant wasn’t what she saw for herself in the future, she wanted to be an editor, not an editor’s helper. Harper didn’t hate her boss– okay, maybe a little, just a bit, but it wasn’t their fault she had been working for them for two years and hadn’t gotten anywhere. But, it was probably their fault, to be fair.

[text] You climbed the fence and then started crying because you were scared of hamsters, I really don’t know what you took, but you need a babysitter.

[text;; COSTIA]: A babysitter?
[text;; COSTIA]: I am seventeen years old. I do not need a babysitter
[text;; COSTIA]: Hamsters are scary though.

❝I get all tingly when you take control like that.❞ [cosTIA NO]

Harper leaned forward, sealing the words as she pressed her lips against Costia’s, hand reaching for the redhead’s. ❝Even I get tingly when I take control like that,❞ she joked, stifling a laugh against the older girl’s lips as she leant in for another gentle kiss.

Roma had been working at the cafe for a few years by now and
had made a few casual friend with the regulars that walked in. This was
how she met Bellamy and the two had dated for awhile until their
relationship ended up deteriorating, though it ended on good terms,
and the two see each other every so often when they hang out with their
mutual friends.

She also earned herself the spot of being the person everyone
always talks to about everyone else, so she tended to know what was
going on around town. This was also the case at her other job at the bar
a couple streets down. This wasn’t her ideal job when she graduated but
she ended up liking it while she made a couple bucks to live off of while
still going to college.

Because of her connections and working for so long at the cafe,
she did notice when a new face walked in through the door. A girl,
younger than her but she had to be out of high school by now or at least
will be soon. She was pretty. Roma smiled as she approached the counter,
“ Hi, what can I get you? “

Harper had just gotten off the bus from the plane, suitcase trailing behind
her and the straps of her backpack digging into her shoulders. The place she was
staying at was a few blocks away but she could do with some coffee before she
settled in and started to unpack. The rest of her things would be arriving later– the
airline had lost her luggage but had called to say they had found it. Luckily.

Approaching the counter, one hand still gripped knuckle-white around the
handle of her suitcase, she offered a small smile to the girl behind the counter.
It smelt nice in there, a huge change from the stench of body odour that seemed
to plague the bus, and the girl was pretty sure she could get used to the smell of
coffee beans and nice perfume (which probably belonged to the woman talking to
her.

“What?” Nice, Harper. “Sorry, uh– Can I get a latte?” Honestly, she just
needed caffeine; after that plane trip and then the bus ride, she was five seconds
from curling up in the corner of the café and falling asleep on their floor. Glancing
at the girl’s nametag, she smiled. “Thanks, Roma.”

This was exactly why he enjoyed teasing and messing around with the girl. If you had asked his opinion, she took herself too seriously most of the time- that was her biggest problem And that was why she had always made the perfect target for his meaningless pranks, she always had the most entertaining reaction to his often immature antics.

The words she threw at him carried more bite than they usually had. He was not sure he had ever heard her use such foul language before. Though he had always had his doubts that she was truly as wholesome as she had made herself seem. This is what he had wanted after all, to get this sort of reaction out of her with his impulsive behavior. “What? Not in the mood for a bit of friendly small talk? I thought you always enjoyed our conversations.”

He considered her words carefully, gauging her reaction as he slowly inched his way forward with a teasing smile. “Why not? Some say it’s part of my charm. You don’t agree?”

She most definitely did not agree. Murphy and charm certainly didn’t belong in a sentence unless it was to say he had any; he was pretty much just as charming as a dead slug and that wasn’t very. But, she couldn’t deny that he was funny sometimes, especially when he played pranks on Principal Jaha. Still, Harper hated to laugh at anything he did. Murphy wasn’t funny.

“No,” she said, words forced through gritted teeth as she moved closer towards him, almost daring him to move even closer; god, she wanted to just… kill him. “I wouldn’t say it’s part of your charm.” Somewhere behind her, she became more aware of Wells shifting against the lockers. But, for whatever reason, she didn’t care. Murphy and his goons weren’t going to pick on them any longer; they weren’t going to keep intimidating her and forcing her into a corner she didn’t belong in.

The teenager raised her head defiantly, a smile curling at each corner of her mouth. “‘Friendly talk’? You have a minute to explain yourself before I take this to Kane and I think he’ll believe me over you, Murphy.”

“Okay but listen– if your team wins, you get to kiss me, right? If my team wins,
I get to kiss you. Does it sound like a deal?” she asks, offering forth her hand
to confirm it. Harper’s not the betting kind but it’s worth it.

Octavia glared at Bellamy, Monty and Jasper who were too busy shouting at the television and playing video games.

“I guess we won’t get to watch our Law & Order reruns until tomorrow. The boys are at it again.” She frowned, “I thought we worked out a schedule for a reason?”

Harper couldn’t help the grin that stretched upon her face, shifting slightly in her seat. It wasn’t all that bad; video games were fun enough.

“We did,” the blonde scoffed, sipping at her drink with the slightest hint of disdain. “But, they don’t stick with it– Can’t you just tell Bellamy off? He’s your brother, O, and that show is too important to me to miss again.”

“ I really need your help with something. “ Harper was the first person
who came in his mind. She was well, the first person who came in his
           mind.

“ Sure,  what  is  it? “ she asked, turning away from her work to
meet his eye. Harper wasn’t busy– anymore, atleast– so she
           didn't mind.

[ ᵀᴱˣᵀ ; ʜ ]: You know I love you, but I am not going to just give free piggy backs out to anyone, cause than the rest will see it purely unfair. I have honor, Harper, and I shall keep it.

[ ᵀᴱˣᵀ ; ʜ ]: REALLY? I would love to see you TRY. Have fun hanging on cause once you do there is no stopping until either you lose your grip and fall on your butt /or/ gives up. Which ever comes first.

[ ᵀᴱˣᵀ ; ʟ ]: You have honor??? Since when have you, Lincoln, had honour? Besides, they’ll understand. I’m pretty, just say it was my charm or something. You just couldn’t resist ALL this.

[ ᵀᴱˣᵀ ; ʟ ]: You should see me in action. I’ve been going to the gym, working on my biceps and my six-pack, pretty much everything. I guarantee I could kick your butt anyday, Lincoln.
