Octavia glared at Bellamy, Monty and Jasper who were too busy shouting at the television and playing video games.
“I guess we won’t get to watch our Law & Order reruns until tomorrow. The boys are at it again.” She frowned, “I thought we worked out a schedule for a reason?”
Harper couldn’t help the grin that stretched upon her face, shifting slightly in her seat. It wasn’t all that bad; video games were fun enough.
“We did,” the blonde scoffed, sipping at her drink with the slightest hint of disdain. “But, they don’t stick with it– Can’t you just tell Bellamy off? He’s your brother, O, and that show is too important to me to miss again.”
Murphy had opened his mouth to speak about a half dozen times before promptly shutting it. It wasn't out of any respect for the library or study period they were in, but rather because, for once, he wasn't sure what to say. When he finally did speak, it didn't go exactly as planned. "So Harper, prom this weekend. It sounds -- kinda lame, right?"
Harper was only half paying attention to around her, textbook flipped open to a random page, when she heard Murphy speak, eyes flickering up to glance at him. “I guess,” she managed. Even though the girl hadn’t been planning to go, her dad was making her; something about being a normal teenager and that it was healthy to interact with kids her age but she didn’t have anyone to go with and no way was she turning up by herself. "Kind of planning on going though. How about you– Got a date yet, Murph?“
Send me “You are my sunshine” for my muse’s reaction to yours dying in their arms
“Hey, come on, stay with me,” she whispers, words barely passing between her lips when she chokes down a sob, hands shaking as they press against the wound. “I’ll fix you– You’ll be– Murphy, you’ll be fine, I-I promise.”
Even Harper knows that he can’t be saved but she doesn’t want to accept it, even if her hands are red with his blood, too much for there to be any way to pull him back from the edge of death. But even though she knows, she can’t find it in herself to tell him. There has to be hope.
“In peace may you leave this shore,” the girl soothes, a false smile pressed on her face. Parting words are the first thing to come into her head and they don’t depart her mouth without a cry, moving her arm to wipe her eyes against her forearm. “In love may you f-find the next.”
They’ve already lost too much; this can’t be fair. Her parents were lost in space, her bone marrow- and much more- lost to the Mountain Men, and Murphy and her, the sole survivors of years on the ground– there is NO fucking away she’s going to lose anyone else.
Atleast John Murphy would go out in the arms of someone who didn’t completely despite him. In the middle of a fierce battle, scarred and bruised, she pressed forward, warm lips against his forehead. “Safe passage on your travels until our finally journey to the ground– Oh, god, John, please.”
Harper couldn’t be the last one left, someone, anyone, but her. After everything they’d been through, she should have died weeks ago, maybe months, or years, but here they were. “I–I love you.”
Finally, his eyes fluttered shut, a breath shuddering through her chest, forcing another sob. That was it; she was alone and he was almost gone. Staring down at her blood-soaked hands, at his body in her lap, in her arms, she managed to say one more sentence before his chest stopped heaving.
dear muns who are anxious over playing a duplicate of a muse:
it’s your freetime it’s your blog it’s your choices
there’s already a blog ( or more ) with the muse you want to portray? do it anyway. remember that you should do whatever you want with your blog and you shouldn’t let others make you feel insecure about it. everyone’s portrayal and understanding of the same muse is different, so don’t ever feel like you’re just one in the million. you aren’t. each portrayal is unique because each person behind each blog has a different grip on their muse. are there people who dislike you for paying said muse? don’t pay attention to them. you should be allowed to do whatever makes you feel better and if it means playing a muse that others portray as well, just do it. you may have it hard at first but if people see that you’re having fun, they’ll grow to like you and will be more willing to interact with you.
the haters aren’t worth your attention

RULES
GENERAL
◦Please patient with replies if you have sent me a meme or we have a thread going, I run way too many blogs to count and often get swamped with drafts. That said, if it’s been a few days, you’re always welcome to throw a little reminder my way, okay? ◦Please, please don't godmod. You control your character and I'll control mine, let's keep it that way. ◦While I am legally able to smut in my country, I am underage so, in saying that, while NSFW themes will tend to appear, there will be not smutting on this blog. It makes me uncomfortable and it goes against the law. I ask that you respect this, please.
THE MUN
◦It’s a lot easier for me ( considering I am looking for jobs and attend school ) to be selective and semi-private. I don’t follow for follow but I’ll do my best to check out your blog if, by chance, you decide to click that little button on my blog.
◦While I am a genuinely friendly person, I do not tolerate hate of any kind and if I find out you’ve been sending hate to myself or another member of the roleplay community, consider yourself dropped and blocked.
◦I’m Rachel, by the way, and I’m about five foot so please don’t be scared to ever approach me. My inbox is always open for you to vent if you need it and I’ll do my best to tag any– and all– triggers on my blog.
◦Honestly, I'll respond to just about any name so if you don't remember mine, using my muse's is a pretty good idea, yeah? (Note that I go by she/her pronouns, though)
◦If you don’t like my rules, don’t follow. It's as simple as that, okay? In saying this, if I manage to somehow make you uncomfortable, you're welcome to unfollow at any time. Look after yourself, okay? I won't take it personally.
◦Anyway, welcome to my little blog. If you want to plot– though I only thread with mutuals– then pop into my inbox in ALL CAPS and I’m sure to love your enthusiasm and jump right on-board, okay?
